And you shall sleep restful nights" (St. Ephraim the Syrian).

Fagerberg on Mills on Schmemann

Earlier I interviewed my friend, the Orthodox priest and theologian Bill Mills about his new book Church, World, and Kingdom: The Eucharistic Foundation of Alexander Schmemann's Pastoral Theology.

I sent the book out for specialized review for Logos: A Journal of Eastern Christian Studies (which is in an exciting period of growth and transition, and should soon have multiple options for on-line access available not only to academic subscribers, but to individuals also--stay tuned!).

Our reviewer for Fr. Bill's book was the distinguished liturgist and professor at Notre Dame, David Fagerberg, whose own scholarship, in books such as Theologia Prima: What Is Liturgical Theology? has drawn heavily on Schmemann. Fagerberg wrote a very positive review, and we will be running that review in the spring issue of Logos along with our usual panoply of articles, notes, essays, and other reviews, both long and short. I will have more details in the coming weeks so stay tuned.
